Abstract

The users of simulation games need documents for their job. This includes anything from rule booklets to role sheets. The recent evolution of new technologies for displaying documents are considered. Document display has moved from paper to screen (and back.) The possibilities of display have evolved with PC's performances. This evolution has lasted a few decades. New possibilities have appeared. Simple text documents became hypermedia documents. The numerous possibilities of hypermedia documents are explored and considered for use in the design of training games, both on-line or indoors/outdoors. The importance of structure is stressed. A minimal knowledge of web standards could be of interest for the authors.
