Project MMS (Meeting Management Simulation)

Introduction
During meeting management training, not all students are able to play the role of the
leader. Only 3 or 4 or them can do that.
That’s why it was imagined to give all the students the possibility
to play the role of the leader thanks to a computer simulation.
- The simulations present a purely artificial situation
that doesn’t show all that can happen in real life. However, they emphasized
the main features, the main behaviours that, as for them, are in limited
numbers.
- We have imagined to resort to computer simulation
because non virtual simulation can neither vary the situations a lot nor lead
the participants to vary their behaviour in a group. For example, very often
the leader keeps the floor.
- Computer simulation for instance offers additional assets
compare to role playing :
· On one hand, there’s several participants are
not required to conduct a meeting.
· On the other hand, the group of students can be larger
than in non virtual simulation an each participant can be
leader.
· Observers can give their opinion about the meeting
management and go back to the key moments of the meeting.
· The meeting is recorded on a computer and the software
will analyse the leader’s behavioural tendency (shy,
autoritarian, direct...)
· Thanks to the computer, it will be possible to identify
his/her hesitation, stress, quick decisions, fear of another
participant.
· The simulation can be done as often as needed.
